EDINBURG, Texas (Interstat) — The Rio Grande Valley Vipers delivered a decisive 128-101 victory over the Salt Lake City Stars in a G League matchup Friday night at Bert Ogden Arena.

The Vipers seized control early, outscoring the Stars 36-26 in the first quarter and maintained a double-digit lead throughout. A 37-point third quarter for Rio Grande Valley extinguished any hope of a Salt Lake City rally.

Rio Grande Valley center Omer Yurtseven led a potent offensive attack, consistently finishing at the rim. Salt Lake City guard Dereon Seabron provided a scoring spark for the Stars, who fell to 26-19. The Vipers improved to 26-17.

The teams will meet again in Edinburg on Saturday.
