Capitanes Cruise Past Herd Behind Balanced Scoring, Garcia’s All-Around Effort

OSHKOSH, Wis. (Interstat) — The Mexico City Capitanes used a dominant second quarter to secure a 116-97 G League victory over the Wisconsin Herd on Saturday at Oshkosh Arena.

Mexico City broke open a close game by outscoring Wisconsin 34-27 in the second period, building a double-digit lead it would not relinquish. The Capitanes improved to 25-16, while the Herd fell to 12-30.

Andersson Garcia led Mexico City with 12 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Felipe Haase added a game-high 22 points. Wisconsin’s Stevie Thompson recorded a triple-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in the loss.

The Capitanes shot efficiently from the floor and shared the ball effectively, with six players scoring in double figures. The Herd kept pace early but could not sustain an answer for Mexico City’s offensive surge after halftime.
