Iowa vs. Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. (Interstat) — A pivotal Western Conference matchup awaits Wednesday when the surging Stockton Kings host the Iowa Wolves in a G League clash at Stockton Arena.

The Kings (23-12) enter with the superior record, but the Wolves (21-16) have proven to be a tough opponent, including a 114-109 victory in Stockton on Feb. 3. Both teams are looking to rebound from Sunday losses; Stockton fell 114-107 to Oklahoma City, while Iowa dropped a narrow 117-115 decision to Rio Grande Valley.

The spotlight will be on a compelling individual rematch between Iowa’s Enrique Freeman and Stockton’s DaQuan Jeffries. In the Feb. 3 meeting, Jeffries erupted for 36 points and five assists, but Freeman’s 22 points and seven rebounds helped secure the Iowa win. Freeman is coming off a dominant 29-point, 12-rebound, four-block performance in Sunday’s loss. Over his last five games, the center is averaging 20.8 points and 10.0 rebounds.

Jeffries has been on a scoring tear for the Kings. In the eight games since the loss to Iowa, the forward is averaging 25.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists, including a 36-point outing against the Wolves. His consistent high-level production will be central to Stockton’s game plan.

Iowa’s recent form has been uneven, going 4-3 in its last seven contests, though its offense has frequently been potent. Stockton has been strong, winning five of its last seven, with both losses coming by single digits.

The Wolves will need another strong showing from guard Zyon Pullin, who scored 33 points with seven assists Sunday, to counter Stockton’s backcourt. The Kings will rely on Dexter Dennis, who added 29 points in the recent loss, to provide supplemental scoring alongside Jeffries.

With playoff positioning at stake, this contest offers Stockton a chance to avenge its earlier home loss and solidify its standing, while Iowa aims to sweep the two-game season series and climb closer in the conference race. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. PST.
