PORTLAND, Ore. (Interstat) — The Santa Cruz Warriors built a large early lead and survived a furious fourth-quarter rally by the Rip City Remix to secure a 118-113 G League victory Sunday at Chiles Center.

Santa Cruz opened a 65-49 halftime advantage, powered by a strong first half. The Warriors maintained control through three quarters before Rip City mounted a comeback, outscoring Santa Cruz 35-28 in the final period. The Remix charge fell short in the closing moments.

The win improved Santa Cruz to 12-22 this season. Rip City, which had been projected as a heavy favorite, fell to 21-16. The teams will meet again in Portland on Tuesday.
