Capital City vs. Noblesville

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (Interstat) — The surging Noblesville Boom will look to build on a dramatic victory and solidify their playoff positioning when they host the struggling Capital City Go-Go in a G League matchup Saturday at the Arena at Innovation Mile.

The Boom (18-17) enter on a high note after edging the College Park Skyhawks 130-129 on Thursday. Noblesville has won four of its last six games, with versatile center Jalen Slawson powering the run. Over his last five contests, Slawson is averaging 18.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 2.0 blocks, including a triple-double of 19 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists in a narrow loss to Osceola on Feb. 6.

Capital City (16-18), meanwhile, seeks to halt a three-game skid. The Go-Go are coming off a 119-107 road loss to Greensboro on Thursday, part of a 2-5 stretch over their last seven games. A bright spot has been the recent play of forward Kadary Richmond, who scored 24 points with six rebounds in the loss to Greensboro and is averaging 19.3 points over his last three appearances.

The teams will meet again Sunday in Noblesville, making this a critical back-to-back set. The Boom hold a slim two-game lead over the Go-Go in the overall standings, adding urgency for Capital City to reverse its recent fortunes. The Boom’s offense has been potent, scoring 121 points or more in five of their last six games. Containing Slawson’s all-around game and slowing Noblesville’s pace will be a primary challenge for a Capital City defense that has allowed an average of 119.4 points during its three-game losing streak.

Saturday’s contest tips off at 7 p.m. EST.
