Capital City Edges South Bay in G League Thriller

WASHINGTON (Interstat) — Keshon Gilbert’s driving layup with 11 seconds left proved to be the game-winner as the Capital City Go-Go edged the South Bay Lakers 115-114 in a G League matchup Friday afternoon at CareFirst Arena.

The Go-Go, who avenged a loss to South Bay from two days prior, survived a late push from the Lakers. After Gilbert’s basket put Capital City up one, South Bay’s R.J. Davis scored on a tip-in with seven seconds remaining, but the Lakers could not get another shot.

Capital City’s Skal Labissiere led a potent offensive attack. The Go-Go used a 35-point third quarter to build a cushion before holding off South Bay’s rally. The Lakers’ Arthur Kaluma and Kobe Bufkin combined for consistent scoring throughout the contest.

With the win, Capital City improved to 16-15. South Bay fell to 17-15.
