Windy City vs. Westchester
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Westchester Knicks, propelled by a historic first-quarter offensive explosion, overcame a projected double-digit deficit to defeat the Windy City Bulls 114-104 in a G League game Friday night at Westchester County Center.
The most critical phase of the game was its opening minutes, which set a decisive tone. Westchester erupted for 44 points in the first quarter, establishing a 19-point lead that Windy City spent the remainder of the game unsuccessfully trying to surmount. The Knicks’ early barrage, which included six 3-pointers, rendered the Bulls’ consistent scoring across the final three quarters insufficient.
Kevin McCullar led the Knicks with a dominant all-around performance, scoring 23 points while adding eight rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and two steals. His playmaking was central to the early onslaught and crucial in closing out the game. Pacome Dadiet provided a game-high 26 points for Westchester, and Ariel Hukporti added 18 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Dillon Jones controlled the glass with 13 rebounds and six assists.
For Windy City, Mac McClung scored 25 points and Kevin Knox added 21 points and seven rebounds. The Bulls received 14 points from Emanuel Miller and 12 points with seven rebounds from Giorgi Bezhanishvili.
Despite the lopsided start, Windy City chipped away at the lead, outscoring Westchester in the second and third quarters. The Bulls cut the deficit to single digits several times in the second half, but the Knicks consistently answered with timely baskets. A key sequence came late in the fourth quarter when, leading 109-104, McCullar stole the ball from McClung and subsequently assisted on a Bryson Warren 3-pointer that pushed the lead back to eight with 1:27 remaining, effectively sealing the outcome.
The result improved Westchester’s record to 6-21, while Windy City fell to 12-13. The Knicks’ victory defied a pregame projection from Interstat that had forecast a 123-100 win for the Bulls, though the same service’s ELO rating system gave Westchester a slight probability edge to win.
Westchester is scheduled to host the Osceola Magic on Saturday. Windy City begins a road trip at the Oklahoma City Blue on Monday.
