Mexico City Holds Off South Bay in High-Scoring G League Affair
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (Interstat) — The Mexico City Capitanes defeated the South Bay Lakers 123-113 in a G League game Thursday night at UCLA Health Training Center.
Mexico City built an early lead with a 27-point first quarter and maintained control throughout, answering every South Bay push. The Capitanes sealed the victory with a 36-point third-quarter outburst. The win improved Mexico City to 17-11 this season, while South Bay fell to 12-13.
James Bouknight and Boo Buie provided consistent offense for the Capitanes. South Bay’s Chris Manon and Nick Smith led several rallies, but the Lakers could not overcome the early deficit. The teams will meet again at the same venue Saturday.
