Capital City vs. Texas
FRISCO, Texas (Interstat) — A pair of G League teams hovering around .500 will meet Monday when the Capital City Go-Go visit the Texas Legends at Dr Pepper Arena.
The Go-Go (11-12) arrive after a tough 115-104 home loss to Raptors 905 on Thursday, despite a 30-point effort from Alondes Williams. Capital City has dropped two straight following a three-game winning streak.
Williams, a dynamic wing, has been a consistent force, averaging 24.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists over his last two contests. His backcourt mate, Sharife Cooper, dished out 11 assists in the most recent loss.
The Texas Legends (12-13) are trending in the opposite direction, riding a three-game win streak. They are coming off a 132-123 road victory over Memphis on Wednesday, powered by a season-high 27 points from guard Mark Armstrong.
Armstrong has surged during the streak, averaging 20.0 points and 5.7 assists while seeing increased minutes. His backcourt play will be pivotal against Capital City’s high-scoring duo.
The Legends have found their offensive rhythm, scoring 123, 114, and 132 points in their consecutive wins. They will test a Capital City defense that allowed 115 points in its last outing.
Inside, Texas will rely on Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, who posted 20 points, six rebounds and three blocks against Memphis. He will match up with Capital City’s Leaky Black, who is coming off a 17-point, seven-rebound performance.
This matchup is the only scheduled meeting between the affiliates this season. Following the game, Capital City begins a two-game set at Austin, while Texas prepares to host the Valley Suns on Friday.
Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. CST Monday.
