EDINBURG, Texas (Interstat) — The Rio Grande Valley Vipers edged the South Bay Lakers 126-121 in a G League contest Saturday at Bert Ogden Arena. The Vipers used a dominant 39-point third quarter to overcome a halftime deficit and secure the victory.

South Bay led 63-53 at halftime, but Rio Grande Valley’s surge after the break proved decisive. The Vipers sealed the game with late free throws from Daishen Nix and John Knight.

With the win, Rio Grande Valley improved to 13-12. South Bay fell to 12-11. The teams will meet again Tuesday in Edinburg.
