Cancun vs Club Jaiba Brava

Preview: Cancun Hosts Club Jaiba Brava in Liga de Expansión MX Clash

CANCUN, Mexico (Interstat) — Cancun will look to reverse a recent head-to-head result when it hosts Club Jaiba Brava on Saturday in a Liga de Expansión MX matchup.

The visitors won the last meeting 2-1 on Sept. 20, 2025. A statistical projection for the rematch, however, forecasts a 1-1 draw.

Cancun (6-5-3) enters with momentum from a dominant 4-1 victory over Mineros de Zacatecas last Saturday. That performance highlighted an attack capable of explosive results, like a 5-0 win over Correcaminos UAT in October. But consistency has been elusive, with the team alternating wins and losses in its last five matches.

Club Jaiba Brava (5-6-3) seeks to stabilize after a 3-1 road loss to Tapatío on Feb. 13 snapped a brief unbeaten run. Its season has been marked by volatility, featuring both a 4-1 defeat and a 3-1 victory within its last ten contests. A 1-0 win at Atlante in January shows its potential to secure results away from home.

The matchup presents a contrast in recent form. Cancun’s offense has produced 11 goals in its last five games. Club Jaiba Brava has struggled to score, netting just three times in its same span while conceding seven.

Following this contest, Cancun faces a quick turnaround with a road game at Cimarrones de Sonora on Sunday. Club Jaiba Brava’s next match is at home against Dorados on March 8.

Saturday’s game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. local time kickoff at Estadio Olímpico Andrés Quintana Roo.
