Asteras Tripolis vs Volos NFC
TRÍPOLI, Greece (Interstat) — Julián Bartolo scored twice in the second half to lead Asteras Tripolis to a 2-0 victory over Volos NFC in a Super League 1 match on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Stadio Theodoros Kolokotronis.
The result, a reversal of the teams’ September meeting, provided a vital three points for a struggling Asteras Tripolis side and extended a difficult run for the visitors.
The first half was a cagey, physical affair with few clear chances. The tension manifested in a pair of yellow cards, first to Volos substitute Núrio Fortuna in the 13th minute and then to Asteras substitute Giannis Bouzoukis in the 46th.
The match opened up after the break. Asteras defender Robert Ivanov received a yellow card in the 67th minute, but he would soon turn provider. Just nine minutes later, the home side broke the deadlock. Ivanov initiated the play, feeding Bartolo, who finished clinically in the 76th minute. The goal celebration was briefly muted as Asteras substitute Thanasis Triantafyllou was shown a yellow card during the sequence.
Bartolo sealed the victory deep into second-half stoppage time, netting his second of the match to complete the scoring. The assists on the late goal were credited to Fortuna and Bouzoukis, the earlier entrants who had shaken up the game.
The win improved Asteras Tripolis to 3 wins, 10 losses and 5 draws in Super League 1 play this season, offering a rare bright spot in a campaign that has seen the club near the bottom of the table. Their overall record across all competitions moved to 13 wins, 17 losses and 6 draws.
For Volos NFC, the defeat marked a fourth consecutive loss in the league and continued a sharp downturn in form. After a promising start to their season, they have now failed to score in their last three Super League 1 matches. Their record in the competition fell to 8 wins, 11 losses and 1 draw, with an overall mark of 10 wins, 11 losses and 1 draw.
The outcome defied the pre-match projection from Interstat, whose game simulator had predicted a 1-1 draw. Their ELO rating system, however, had given Asteras Tripolis a 57.60 percent probability of victory, which proved accurate.
Asteras Tripolis will look to build on this momentum when they travel to face Puebla on Saturday, Feb. 14. Volos NFC, seeking to halt their slide, returns home to host AS Aris Thessalonikis on the same date.
