RABAT, Morocco (Interstat) — Nigeria overpowered Gabon 4-1 in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday at Stade Prince Héritier Moulay Hassan. Victor Osimhen led the Super Eagles with a goal and an assist, breaking open a tight match with two late scores. Akor Adams opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 78th minute before Gabon’s Mario Lemina equalized. Chidera Ejuke then put Nigeria ahead for good, setting the stage for Osimhen’s decisive double. The result defied a pregame projection of a draw, handing Nigeria a winning start to its campaign.
