PRAGUA (Interstat) — SK Slavia Praha and Athletic Club played to a 0-0 draw in a Champions League group stage match Tuesday at Fortuna Arena. The result left both teams with identical 0-0-1 records to open their European campaigns.

The match failed to produce a goal despite several key performances off the bench. Defenders Aitor Paredes of Athletic Club and Ruiz de Galarreta were booked, as were Slavia Praha’s Lukáš Provod and Tomáš Chorý. The stalemate was a surprise given pregame projections that heavily favored the Czech side to secure a victory.
