Rodange vs Mamer

RODANGE, Luxembourg (Interstat) — Rodange delivered a commanding performance Tuesday afternoon, defeating visiting Mamer 4-0 in a Promotion d’Honneur match at Stade Joseph Philippart that was decisively shaped by a first-half red card.

The match, part of Week 3 in the lux-pro-organized competition, saw Rodange erupt for three goals in a devastating six-minute span late in the first half to secure the victory. The result leaves both teams with identical 1-1 records in the league this season.

The game’s pivotal moment arrived in the 34th minute when Mamer’s Gennaro Tutino was shown a straight red card, forcing his side to play a man down for the remainder of the contest. Rodange, already applying pressure, capitalized almost immediately.

Midfielder Matteo Dagasso broke the deadlock in the 38th minute, firing Rodange into the lead. The floodgates then opened. Substitute Filippo Reale doubled the advantage just two minutes later in the 40th minute. Midfielder Gianluca Busio compounded Mamer’s misery with a third goal in the 44th minute, completing a rapid-fire sequence that put the match out of reach before halftime.

The second half saw further discipline issues. Rodange substitute Andréa Le Borgne, who had assisted on Reale’s goal, received a yellow card in the 63rd minute. His afternoon worsened in the 85th minute when he was shown a second yellow, reducing both sides to 10 men for the final stretch. Dagasso capped the scoring and his brace deep into stoppage time, finding the net in the 90+1 minute to seal the 4-0 result.

The lopsided score defied pre-match projections. Interstat’s game simulator had predicted a 2-1 victory for Rodange, while its ELO rating system gave the home side a 55.2% probability of winning.

Rodange’s midfield controlled the match, with Dagasso’s two goals leading the way. Bartol Franjić recorded an assist before receiving a first-half yellow card. The victory provides a significant boost for Rodange, which now holds a 6-11-3 record across all competitions this season. For Mamer, the defeat continues a difficult campaign, dropping its overall record to 8-14-1.

The win also completes a season double for Rodange over Mamer, following a 2-0 away victory in the previous meeting on Dec. 7.

Rodange looks to build on the momentum with its next match, a league fixture against F91 Diddeleng at home on March 8. Mamer, meanwhile, faces a quick turnaround with a Luxembourg Cup match against Victoria Rosport on Wednesday, followed by a league encounter at Swift Hesperange on March 8.
