Tennessee Tech at Eastern Illinois

CHARLESTON, Ill. (Interstat) — The undefeated Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles put their perfect season on the line Saturday when they visit O’Brien Field to face the Eastern Illinois Panthers.

Tennessee Tech (9-0) is coming off a 27-21 home victory over Gardner-Webb last Saturday. Quarterback Kekoa Visperas powered the offense, throwing for 279 yards and two touchdowns while adding 45 yards on the ground. The Golden Eagles’ high-powered offense has scored at least 27 points in every game this season and has eclipsed 40 points in six of their nine contests.

They face an Eastern Illinois team (3-6) looking to rebound from a 27-20 home loss to Tennessee-Martin. Panthers quarterback Cole LaCrue accounted for two touchdowns in the defeat. Eastern Illinois has struggled for consistency, with its three wins coming against Tennessee State, Western Illinois and Dayton.

Despite the stark contrast in records, a projection from Interstat’s game simulator forecasts an upset, predicting a 42-32 victory for the home-standing Panthers.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at O’Brien Field.
