Murray State at Northern Iowa
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (Interstat) — Two struggling Missouri Valley Football Conference teams will meet Saturday when the Northern Iowa Panthers host the winless Murray State Racers at the UNI-Dome.
Northern Iowa (2-7) is looking to halt a four-game losing streak after falling 31-16 at Illinois State last Saturday. Quarterback Jaxon Dailey led the Panthers in that contest, throwing for 142 yards and a touchdown while adding 40 yards on the ground.
Murray State (0-9) is still searching for its first victory of the season following a 27-7 home loss to Southern Illinois. The Racers have used multiple quarterbacks, with Jim Ogle, Kaleb Bailey and Baxter Wright all seeing action in the most recent game.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a high-scoring affair, favoring Northern Iowa 42-27. The Panthers’ two wins this season came at home against Eastern Washington and Butler.
The Racers continue their difficult conference schedule the following week by hosting North Dakota, while Northern Iowa travels to face North Dakota State.
