Tulsa at Florida Atlantic

BOCA RATON, Fla. (Interstat) — Two American Athletic Conference teams seeking to salvage their seasons will meet Saturday when the Tulsa Golden Hurricane visits the Florida Atlantic Owls at Flagler Credit Union Stadium.

Both teams enter the Nov. 8 contest on multi-game losing streaks. Tulsa (2-6) is looking to rebound from a heartbreaking 38-37 home loss to Temple on Oct. 25, a game decided by a last-second field goal. The Golden Hurricane offense showed life in the defeat, with quarterback Baylor Hayes throwing for 296 yards and three touchdowns.

Florida Atlantic (3-5) is also coming off a high-scoring loss, falling 42-32 at Navy on Oct. 25. The Owls’ quarterback duo of Caden Veltkamp and Zach Gibson combined for four passing touchdowns in the contest.

Despite Tulsa’s worse overall record, oddsmakers have installed the Golden Hurricane as a 3.5-point favorite. The total is set at 62.5 points, suggesting a potential shootout. A projection from Interstat forecasts a close Florida Atlantic victory, 37-33.

The game represents a critical juncture for both programs as they navigate the back half of their schedules. Tulsa will look to its offensive weapons, including Hayes and running back Dominic Richardson, to secure a road win. The Owls will counter with their own potent passing attack in a matchup that appears evenly balanced on paper.
