UAB at Rice
HOUSTON (Interstat) — Two American Athletic Conference teams looking to salvage their seasons will meet Saturday when the Rice Owls host the UAB Blazers at Rice Stadium.
Rice (4-5) returns home after a 38-14 loss to Memphis last Friday. UAB (3-5) is also coming off a defeat, falling 38-19 at Connecticut last Saturday. Despite the Blazers’ losing record, they have been installed as a 2.5-point favorite. The over/under is 52.5.
The game features two offenses seeking consistency. UAB quarterback Ryder Burton is coming off a 209-yard, two-touchdown performance in the loss to UConn. The Blazers’ offense has been volatile, scoring 31 points in an upset win over Memphis on Oct. 18 but being held to 19 or fewer points in three of their five losses.
Rice’s offense, led by quarterback Chase Jenkins, managed just 14 points against Memphis. Jenkins contributed both through the air and on the ground in that contest. The Owls’ most recent victory was a 37-34 win over Connecticut on Oct. 25.
A statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a close shootout, predicting a 35-33 victory for Rice.
Kickoff is set for Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, in Houston.
