Texas State at Louisiana

LAFAYETTE, La. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to build on rare victories will meet when the Texas State Bobcats face the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns on Saturday at Cajun Field.

Both teams enter with 3-5 overall records. Texas State is coming off a 52-20 home loss to James Madison on Oct. 28. In that game, quarterback Brad Jackson passed for 230 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 43 yards and another score.

Louisiana snapped a three-game skid with a 31-22 road win over South Alabama on Nov. 1. Quarterback Zeon “Lunch” Winfield was highly efficient in the victory, completing 14 of 15 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns, adding 45 rushing yards and another score on the ground.

Despite their identical records, Louisiana has been installed as a 2.5-point favorite by oddsmakers. The total over/under is set at 63.5 points. A projection from Interstat forecasts a high-scoring affair, favoring the Ragin’ Cajuns 42-32.

The game will be a matchup of two offenses capable of putting up points, with the outcome likely hinging on which defense can find more stops.
