Mississippi State at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to salvage their seasons will meet when the Mississippi State Bulldogs visit the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday at Razorback Stadium.

Mississippi State (4-4) enters coming off a heartbreaking 45-38 overtime loss to Texas, a game in which quarterback Blake Shapen threw for 381 yards and four touchdowns. The Bulldogs’ offense has shown potency, but their four losses have all been by 10 points or fewer, including two in overtime.

Arkansas (2-6) is looking to snap a four-game losing streak. The Razorbacks fell 33-24 to Auburn last week despite a 268-yard passing performance from quarterback Taylen Green. Their defense has struggled, giving up an average of over 40 points per game during their current skid.

Despite the records, Mississippi State is a 4.5-point favorite according to oddsmakers. However, the Interstat game simulator projects an Arkansas victory with a final score of 30-20. The over/under for the contest is set at 66.5 points.

The game represents a critical juncture for both programs. The Bulldogs need two more wins to become bowl-eligible, while the Razorbacks are simply searching for momentum to build upon for the future.
