VALPARAISO, Ind. (Interstat) — Carter Cravens passed for one touchdown and ran for 22 yards as Morehead State defeated Valparaiso 17-13 on Saturday at Brown Field. The Eagles improved to 2-5 overall while the Beacons fell to 1-5.

Running back Craig Cunningham caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Cravens in the first quarter for Morehead State. Valparaiso answered with a rushing touchdown from Dawaiian McNeely and a second-quarter scoring run by Rowan Keefe, but a failed extra point proved critical. The Eagles sealed the win with a third-quarter touchdown run by Cunningham and a staunch defensive stand in the final minutes.
