Morehead State at Valparaiso

VALPARAISO, Ind. (Interstat) — Two Pioneer Football League teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Morehead State Eagles visit the Valparaiso Beacons at Brown Field.

The Eagles (2-5) enter with a surge of confidence after a 23-21 home victory over Marist last Saturday. Morehead State’s offense found a rhythm behind quarterback Carter Cravens, who threw for 139 yards and a touchdown while adding 58 rushing yards. Linebacker Isaac Stopke also made a rare offensive impact, rushing for 88 yards and a score.

Valparaiso (1-5) looks to rebound from a 55-17 road loss to Saint Thomas. The Beacons’ ground game showed flashes, with running back Michael Mansaray gaining 121 yards on 20 carries. The team utilized two quarterbacks, Caron Tyler and Rowan Keefe, in the defeat.

Despite their losing records, a high-scoring affair is projected. Interstat’s game simulator forecasts a narrow 42-40 victory for the visiting Eagles. Both defenses will be tested as they aim to halt their respective slides and secure a pivotal conference win.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 25, in Valparaiso.
