Prairie View at Southern

BATON ROUGE, La. (Interstat) — A surging Prairie View A&M team will look to continue its winning ways when it faces a struggling Southern squad on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at Tiger Stadium.

The Panthers (4-2) enter the contest riding a three-game win streak, most recently edging Alcorn State 13-12 on Oct. 4. Their offense has found success with a dual-quarterback system, utilizing both Cameron Peters and Tevin Carter, who combined for over 250 yards of total offense in the victory.

Conversely, the Jaguars (1-4) are seeking to halt a three-game slide after a 45-14 road loss to Bethune-Cookman on Oct. 11. Southern’s defense has been a primary concern, surrendering an average of 41.6 points during its current losing streak.

Despite the disparity in records, a projection from Interstat anticipates a high-scoring affair, simulating a final score of Southern 42, Prairie View 39.

The game will be the first of a key five-game stretch for both teams as they navigate the second half of their Southwestern Athletic Conference schedules.
