Texas A&M at Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Interstat) — The undefeated and Texas A&M Aggies face a challenging road test Saturday against the Arkansas Razorbacks at Razorback Stadium, a matchup where recent history and current trends appear to be at odds.
Texas A&M (5-0) is one of 12 remaining unbeaten teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision, coming off a decisive 34-17 victory over then-Florida. Quarterback Marcel Reed leads a balanced offense, accounting for two touchdowns and 271 total yards in the win.
Conversely, Arkansas (2-3) looks to rebound from a heartbreaking 34-31 loss at Tennessee. Despite the record, the Razorbacks have been competitive in shootouts, with quarterback Taylen Green and running back Mike Washington Jr. powering an offense that has averaged 32.8 points in its last four games against Power Five opponents.
The Aggies’ defense, which has not allowed more than 24 points this season, will be tested by a potent Arkansas attack. The Razorbacks’ defense, however, has been vulnerable, giving up an average of 41 points in its three losses.
Despite Texas A&M’s perfect record, Arkansas has been installed as a 7.5-point favorite by oddsmakers. The over/under is set at 60.5 points. A projection from Interstat simulates a 28-24 Arkansas victory.
Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 18, in Fayetteville.
