DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Interstat) — Bethune-Cookman erupted for 31 unanswered points to overpower Southern 45-14 in a non-conference football game Saturday at Daytona Stadium. The Wildcats broke open a 7-7 first-quarter tie, scoring 14 points in the second quarter and 17 in the third to pull away decisively.

Quarterback Cam’Ron Ransom led Bethune-Cookman, throwing for two touchdowns and running for another. Southern’s offense was provided by long touchdown passes from Cam’Ron McCoy and Ashton Strother, but the Jaguars could not sustain drives against a relentless Wildcats attack. Bethune-Cookman improves to 2-4, while Southern falls to 1-4.
