Saint Thomas (Minn.) at Davidson
DAVIDSON, N.C. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to reverse early-season struggles will meet Saturday when the Saint Thomas (Minn.) Tommies visit the Davidson Wildcats at Richardson Stadium.
Both teams enter the nonconference matchup with 1-4 records. The Tommies are looking to snap a three-game losing streak, most recently a 21-14 home loss to Butler on Oct. 4. Quarterback Andy Peters passed for 193 yards and a touchdown in that contest, while running backs Patrick Bowen and Gabriel Abel combined for 118 rushing yards.
Davidson is also coming off a narrow defeat, falling 35-32 at Stetson on Oct. 4. Wildcats quarterback Coulter Cleland accounted for three touchdowns, throwing for 277 yards and adding 27 yards on the ground. Running back Mason Sheron added a rushing touchdown.
The Tommies’ lone win came against Lindenwood in their season opener, while Davidson’s single victory was a 48-0 rout of St. Andrews on Sept. 20. Both defenses have struggled at times, with each team surrendering more than 50 points in a game this season.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest is projected to be a high-scoring affair, with Saint Thomas (Minn.) edging Davidson 30-28.
