GRAMBLING, La. (Interstat) — Athean Renfro rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown as Texas Southern edged Grambling 21-20 on Saturday at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium. The Texas Southern Tigers built a 21-6 lead, scoring 14 points in the second quarter and adding another touchdown in the third. The Grambling Tigers mounted a comeback but fell just short, scoring a touchdown in the second and third quarters. Texas Southern quarterback KJ Cooper threw for one touchdown and ran for another. The win improves Texas Southern’s record to 2-3, while Grambling falls to 3-2.
