Texas Southern at Grambling
GRAMBLING, La. (Interstat) — A clash of Tigers is set for Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium on Saturday as the Grambling Tigers host the Texas Southern Tigers in a Southwestern Athletic Conference matchup.
Grambling (3-2) enters the game looking to rebound from a 28-13 loss to Prairie View on Sept. 27. Quarterback C’zavian Teasett leads the offense, having thrown for 161 yards and a touchdown in the defeat.
Texas Southern (2-3) arrives with significant momentum after a dominant 51-7 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff last week. The offense exploded behind quarterback KJ Cooper, who threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns while adding 48 rushing yards and another score. Running back Athean Renfro provided a powerful ground game, rushing for 133 yards and a touchdown.
The teams have followed different trajectories. Since a season-opening loss, Grambling had won three straight before the Prairie View setback. Texas Southern, after a 1-3 start, has won two consecutive games, including the offensive outburst last week.
The venue offers a distinct home-field advantage for Grambling. Texas Southern has not played since Oct. 4, while Grambling is returning from a bye week following its last contest on Sept. 27.
According to a Interstat game simulator, Grambling is projected to win with a final score of 42-26.
