Toledo at Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (Interstat) — A pivotal Mid-American Conference matchup is set for Saturday at Doyt L. Perry Stadium as the Bowling Green Falcons host rival Toledo in a battle of teams heading in opposite directions.
The Rockets (3-2) enter with momentum after a 45-3 rout of Akron on Sept. 27, a game where their quarterback trio of Tucker Gleason, Kalieb Osborne and John Alan Richter combined for nearly 300 yards passing and accounted for five total touchdowns. Toledo’s offense has shown explosiveness, scoring 45 or more points in three of its wins.
Conversely, the Falcons (2-3) are looking to rebound from a 35-20 road loss to Ohio. Despite the defeat, running back Chris McMillian provided a bright spot, rushing for 89 yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries.
Despite Toledo’s recent form and better record, Bowling Green has been installed as an 11.5-point favorite by oddsmakers. The over/under is set at 47.5 points. A projection from Interstat forecasts a high-scoring affair, simulating a 31-28 victory for the home Falcons.
The intrastate rivalry, known for its unpredictability, adds another chapter as both teams open their MAC schedules. Toledo will aim to prove the oddsmakers wrong, while Bowling Green looks to defend its home field and reverse its recent skid.
