Rice at Texas-San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO (Interstat) — The Rice Owls and Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners, both looking to get back to .500, will meet in an American Athletic Conference matchup Saturday at the Alamodome.
Rice (3-3) enters the contest after a narrow 27-21 home loss to Florida Atlantic last Saturday. The Owls’ ground game was effective in the defeat, with Quinton Jackson rushing for 128 yards and a touchdown and quarterback Chase Jenkins adding a rushing score.
UTSA (2-3) is also coming off a loss, falling 27-21 at Temple. Roadrunners quarterback Owen McCown threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns in the game.
Despite the Roadrunners having a slightly worse record, Interstat’s game simulator projects a UTSA victory, 41-25. However, oddsmakers list Rice as a 9.5-point favorite. The over/under is set at 47.5 points.
The game will be the first of a two-game Texas road swing for the Owls, who will have a bye next week before hosting Connecticut on Oct. 25. UTSA will travel to face North Texas in its next game on Oct. 18.
Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025.
