Ohio State at Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Interstat) — Two of the Big Ten’s hottest teams will collide Saturday when the Ohio State Buckeyes visit the Illinois Fighting Illini at Memorial Stadium.

The undefeated Buckeyes (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) are rolling, coming off a 42-3 rout of Minnesota where quarterback Julian Sayin threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns. Ohio State’s defense has been dominant, allowing just 10.6 points per game, highlighted by a season-opening 14-7 win over Texas.

The Fighting Illini (5-1, 2-1) have rebounded strongly from a 63-10 loss at Indiana, winning their last two games. In a 43-27 victory over Purdue, quarterback Luke Altmyer passed for 390 yards, while the backfield duo of Ca’Lil Valentine and Kaden Feagin combined for three rushing touchdowns.

Despite Illinois’ strong record and home-field advantage, Ohio State has been installed as a 14.5-point favorite by oddsmakers. A projection from Interstat forecasts a 33-19 victory for the Buckeyes. The over/under for the game is set at 50.5 points.

The game is a pivotal conference matchup, with Ohio State looking to maintain its perfect season before a trip to Wisconsin next week. Illinois aims to prove its resurgence is legitimate ahead of its upcoming bye week.
