Washington State at Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. (Interstat) — The undefeated and No. 8-ranked Ole Miss Rebels host the Washington State Cougars on Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in a nonconference matchup.

Ole Miss (5-0) is coming off a signature 24-19 victory over LSU on Sept. 27, a win that solidified its top-10 ranking. The Rebels’ offense, led by quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, has been potent, averaging over 40 points per game. Chambliss threw for 314 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 71 yards in the win over the Tigers.

Washington State (3-2) arrives after a 20-3 road win at Colorado State on Sept. 27. Quarterback Zevi Eckhaus accounted for two touchdowns in that victory. The Cougars’ two losses this season, however, were lopsided defeats to Washington and North Texas by a combined 84 points, raising questions about their consistency against top-tier competition.

Despite the Rebels’ perfect record and home-field advantage, oddsmakers have installed them as a significant favorite. Ole Miss is favored by 31.5 points, with an over/under of 57.5. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 36-22 victory for the Rebels.

The game serves as a final tune-up for Ole Miss before a brutal two-game stretch on the road against SEC powers Georgia and Oklahoma. Washington State continues a challenging road swing before returning home to face Virginia next week.
