Jackson State at Alabama A&M

MOBILE, Ala. (Interstat) — A key Southwestern Athletic Conference East Division clash is set for Saturday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium as the Alabama A&M Bulldogs host the Jackson State Tigers.

Both teams enter with 3-1 conference records, but they are trending in opposite directions. Jackson State (3-1) is riding a two-game winning streak, most recently a dominant 38-13 road victory over Southern. Tigers quarterback JaCobian Morgan was stellar in that win, throwing for 337 yards and two touchdowns while adding another score on the ground.

Alabama A&M (3-2) is looking to rebound after a 41-34 shootout loss to Bethune-Cookman. Despite the defeat, Bulldogs quarterback Eric Handley put up impressive numbers, passing for 355 yards and three touchdowns.

The Tigers’ offense, averaging over 32 points per game, will test an Alabama A&M defense that allowed 41 points last week. The Bulldogs’ strength lies in their own high-powered attack, which has surpassed 30 points in three of their five games.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest is projected to be another high-scoring affair, with Jackson State favored to win 38-31. The outcome will have significant implications in the tightly contested SWAC East standings.
