Fordham at Lafayette
EASTON, Pa. (Interstat) — A surging Fordham team will look to build on its first win of the season when it visits Lafayette on Saturday at Fisher Stadium.
The Rams (1-4) broke into the win column last Saturday with a 26-21 victory over Holy Cross. Quarterback Gunnar Smith led the way, throwing for 254 yards and a touchdown while adding another score on the ground. The rushing attack was potent, with Ricky Parks and Yohan-Li Louis combining for 146 yards.
They face a Lafayette squad (3-2) coming off a 38-28 loss to Princeton. Leopards quarterback Dean DeNobile threw for 256 yards and a touchdown in the defeat. Lafayette had won three straight prior to the Princeton game, including a 38-14 rout of Columbia.
Despite the disparity in records, Interstat’s game simulator projects a close contest, forecasting a 34-31 Fordham victory. The game could hinge on whether Fordham’s newfound momentum can overcome Lafayette’s more consistent start to the season.
Kickoff is set for Saturday afternoon.
