Bears Rally From Nine-Run Deficit, Walk Off Golden Lions in Wild Ninth
CONWAY, Ark. (Interstat) — Zachary Adams hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday, capping a monumental comeback as Central Arkansas rallied from an early nine-run deficit to defeat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 10-9 at Bear Stadium.
The Golden Lions stunned the Bears with nine runs in the top of the first, highlighted by Aaron Grant’s RBI single. Central Arkansas chipped away, fueled by Zeb Allen’s first-inning solo homer and a three-RBI day. Grant and Zach Wieder each homered for Pine Bluff.
The Bears tied it in the eighth on Allen’s sacrifice fly. After Wieder’s RBI double put Pine Bluff ahead in the ninth, Adams delivered his two-run double in the bottom half for the win. Central Arkansas improved to 23-19. Arkansas-Pine Bluff fell to 18-24.
