Towson at Monmouth

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (Interstat) — The Towson Tigers and Monmouth Hawks will continue their Colonial Athletic Association series Saturday afternoon at Monmouth Baseball Field, with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. under clear skies and a temperature near 55 degrees.

The Hawks (17-13, 3-1 CAA) look to secure the series win after taking the opener 8-2 on Friday night. Monmouth has dominated the recent head-to-head matchup, winning the last four meetings dating to March 2026, including a three-game sweep earlier that season.

Friday’s winning pitcher, Ryan Mealy, is a player to watch for Monmouth. The right-hander delivered seven strong innings, allowing one earned run on nine hits with five strikeouts to improve his record. In his last four starts, Mealy has logged 24 1/3 innings with 22 strikeouts.

Towson (14-16, 1-3) will turn to Dutch DeProspero, who took the loss in relief Friday. The right-hander pitched 5 2/3 innings, striking out 10 but allowing four earned runs. DeProspero has shown swing-and-miss stuff recently, fanning 28 batters over his last 16 2/3 innings across four appearances.

The Tigers’ offense, which managed just two runs on Friday, will aim to rebound. Keldrin Rodriguez provided a bright spot with a solo home run.

Despite Monmouth’s recent edge, statistical projections offer a split verdict. Interstat’s game simulator predicts a narrow 7-6 Towson victory, while its ELO rating system gives Monmouth a 67.3% probability to win.

The series concludes Sunday afternoon.
