Lockhart’s Gem, Rogers’ Blast Lead Dons Past Pilots

PORTLAND, Ore. (Interstat) — Gauge Lockhart carried a no-hit bid into the seventh inning and TJ Rogers drove in three runs as the San Francisco Dons edged the Portland Pilots 5-4 on Saturday at Joe Etzel Field.

Lockhart dominated over 6 1/3 innings, allowing just one earned run on zero hits with four strikeouts before exiting. His effort supported an early offensive burst, highlighted by Rogers’ three-run homer in the third.

Portland rallied in the seventh. Leo Cote hit a pinch-hit, three-run homer to pull the Pilots within a run, but San Francisco reliever Quentin Pohorski earned the save with two scoreless innings. The Dons (18-17) evened the series after dropping Friday’s opener to the Pilots (21-15).
