Lehigh Holds Off Lafayette Rally in Patriot League Opener

EASTON, Pa. (Interstat) — Cole Leaman struck out 10 over six no-hit innings and Lehigh survived a late Lafayette rally for an 8-7 victory Saturday in the first game of a Patriot League doubleheader at Kamine Stadium.

Leaman allowed one unearned run before the bullpen narrowly secured the win. Lehigh built an 8-2 lead, powered by Dom Patrizi’s solo homer and two RBIs each from Silvio Giardina and Jack Frankovic, who went 4 for 5.

Lafayette’s Brandon Doubek hit a two-run homer in the eighth and a wild pitch allowed two runs in a three-run ninth before the comeback fell short. Doubek drove in three runs for the Leopards.

Lehigh improved to 11-25. Lafayette dropped to 8-28.
