Siena, Dartmouth Set for Non-Conference Clash Amid Rain Forecast

HANOVER, N.H. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt slides will meet Wednesday when the Siena Saints visit the Dartmouth Big Green for a non-conference baseball game at Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park.

First pitch is scheduled for the evening, though the weather forecast calls for rain and a temperature around 76 degrees.

Both clubs enter with struggling records. Siena (10-20) has lost three of its last four, including a 16-2 defeat at Manhattan on Sunday. Dartmouth (6-19) has dropped eight of its last 10, falling 7-5 to Brown in its most recent outing Sunday.

A player to watch for the Saints is Steven Ramirez. The infielder is 7 for 23 (.304) with a home run and nine RBIs over his last 10 games, including a two-RBI performance in Sunday’s loss.

For the Big Green, reliever Nathan Matoush has been a bright spot. In Sunday’s game against Brown, he delivered 3 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out two. Over his last five appearances, he has a 0.00 ERA in 5 2/3 innings of work, surrendering only two hits.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is Siena 4, Dartmouth 3.

Following this contest, Siena will begin a four-game series with Albany on Friday. Dartmouth opens a doubleheader at Harvard on Saturday.
