Charleston Southern Outslugs Presbyterian in 15‑11 Big South Shootout

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (Interstat) — Matthew Rollison’s historic three-homer, seven-RBI performance was not enough for Presbyterian as Charleston Southern rallied for a 15-11 victory in a Big South Conference baseball game Saturday at Buccaneer Ballpark.

The Blue Hose (6-26, 0-3) erupted for six runs in the first inning, highlighted by Rollison’s first two-run shot. He added a three-run homer in the third and a two-run blast in the eighth, but the Buccaneers (20-10, 2-1) chipped away.

Charleston Southern, which finished with 17 hits, tied the game in the seventh on an error and seized the lead for good with a four-run eighth inning. Key hits included a two-run homer by Tyler Wright and a two-run double by Kain Collins. The Buccaneers’ bullpen combined for 1 2/3 scoreless innings to seal the win.
