Buckeyes Rally Past Rockets in Columbus Slugfest

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Interstat) — Alex Bemis launched a three-run homer in the seventh inning Tuesday, capping a comeback that lifted Ohio State to a 10-5 win over Toledo at Bill Davis Stadium.

The Buckeyes (14-13) erased an early five-run deficit, scoring four unearned runs in the fourth inning to tie the game before Bemis’ decisive blast. Toledo shortstop Charlie Scholvin drove in four runs, including a first-inning solo shot, for the Rockets (12-15). Ohio State managed just seven hits but capitalized on two Toledo errors and a passed ball to plate six unearned runs. Five Buckeyes relievers combined for five scoreless innings after the sixth, with Zach Weber and Andrew Edrington each recording multiple strikeouts.
