Roadrunners Overpower Mavericks to Salvage Series Finale

SAN ANTONIO (Interstat) — Drew Detlefsen homered twice and drove in four runs as Texas-San Antonio rallied for a 15-8 victory over Texas-Arlington in a nonconference baseball game Sunday at Roadrunner Field.

The Roadrunners, who dropped the series’ first two games, trailed 8-2 before exploding. Detlefsen’s three-run homer in the second inning sparked the comeback. His solo shot in the sixth gave Texas-San Antonio a 10-8 lead it never relinquished. Diego Diaz added a three-run homer.

The Mavericks scored six runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by Zach Mazoch’s three-run double, but their bullpen could not hold the lead. Texas-San Antonio improved to 15-5, while Texas-Arlington fell to 7-12.
