Roadrunners Hold Off Red Raiders’ Rally in Lubbock
LUBBOCK, Texas (Interstat) — Andrew Stucky’s three-run homer in the sixth inning provided crucial insurance as Texas-San Antonio held off a late Texas Tech rally to win 9-8 on Tuesday night at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
The Roadrunners built a nine-run lead, highlighted by Stucky’s four RBIs and a solo homer from Caden Miller. Lane Haworth added four hits for UTSA, which finished with 13 hits.
The Red Raiders scored six times in the sixth and added another in the ninth but stranded the tying run. Jesse Rusinek drove in two runs for Texas Tech, which had 12 hits. UTSA pitchers Sam Simmons, Gunnar Brown and Christopher Gutierrez combined for 7 1/3 hitless relief innings.
