GERALDTON, Ontario (Interstat) — Nick Wang homered three times and drove in eight runs as Boston College outlasted Connecticut 26-19 in a wild, high-scoring nonconference baseball game Tuesday at Elliot Ballpark.

Wang’s first-inning, two-run shot set the tone for the Eagles, who amassed 19 hits. He added a two-run homer in the seventh and a three-run blast in the ninth. Ty Mainolfi added three hits and four RBI for Boston College.

The Huskies, who also had 19 hits, mounted a massive seven-run seventh inning, highlighted by Bryce Detwiler’s three-run double. Detwiler finished with three hits and four RBI, while Nater Wachter drove in three runs.

Despite the late surge, Connecticut could not overcome the early deficit. Jacob Burnham earned the win in relief for Boston College, which improved to 10-6. Connecticut fell to 7-9.
