Evans Dominates as Hurricanes Top Eagles in ACC Matchup
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (Interstat) — Rob Evans struck out eight over seven strong innings Saturday, leading Miami to a 5-3 Atlantic Coast Conference baseball win over Boston College at Mark Light Field.
The Hurricanes (12-3) erased an early three-run deficit with three in the first, aided by a Boston College error. Alex Sosa and Dylan Dubovik later homered to provide the winning margin. Evans allowed just two hits and one earned run.
Boston College (8-6) scored all three runs in the first two innings. Nick Wang’s two-run double in the eighth brought the Eagles within two, but Miami reliever Packy BradleyCooney closed the door. Eagles pitchers Luke D’Ancona and John D Mitchell combined for four hitless innings of relief.
