Falcons Soar Past Golden Flashes Behind Stade’s Dominant Relief

KENT, Ohio (Interstat) — Ethan Stade struck out 11 over four perfect innings of relief, powering Bowling Green to a 7-2 victory over Kent State in Mid-American Conference baseball Saturday at Olga Mural Field at Schoonover Stadium.

The Falcons broke open a tight game with a five-run third inning, keyed by RBI hits from Zack Horky and Vinny Salvione. Kent State’s Kolton Schaller and Hunter Klotz each drove in a run.

Stade was dominant after relieving starter Nate Kress, who allowed two runs over five innings for the win. Easton Tumis took the loss for the Golden Flashes. Both teams finished with seven hits. Bowling Green improved to 3-7, while Kent State fell to 10-4. The teams conclude their series Sunday.
