Hoosiers Rally Past Purple Aces Behind Linn’s Strong Start

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Interstat) — The Indiana Hoosiers rallied from an early deficit to defeat the Evansville Purple Aces 8-6 on Wednesday at Bart Kaufman Field.

Indiana starter Conner Linn delivered five dominant innings, allowing one hit and striking out seven to steady the Hoosiers after they fell behind. Evansville’s Spike Magill hit a three-run homer in the ninth, but it wasn’t enough.

Caleb Koskie hit a two-run homer in the first for Indiana, which later erased a 6-2 deficit. The Hoosiers scored three times in the seventh, capitalizing on a costly error to take the lead for good. Brayden Ricketts and Jake Hanley also homered for Indiana.

Reid Haire homered for Evansville. The Hoosiers improved to 16-21, while the Purple Aces fell to 13-21.
