The Bobcats finished with 10 unanswered goals, while Post was unable to generate a response. Quinnipiac scored in every period and controlled play from the opening minutes.

Penalties were frequent in the later stages. Post’s Peyton Tully was called for crosschecking at 5:06 of the second and roughing at 8:59. Kai Hyatt received a tripping minor at 8:59. The Bobcats scored four times in the first period, four more in the second and two in the third. Post, meanwhile, could not solve Quinnipiac’s defense and was shut out for the third time this season. Quinnipiac entered the game after a sweep of Providence and a road sweep of Maine. Post had split a two-game series at Robert Morris before the loss, with its lone win coming in overtime. Quinnipiac’s defense kept Post off the scoreboard and sealed the shutout. Bairos had scored twice in her previous game against Providence. The Bobcats are scheduled to host Northeastern next, while Post is set to face Long Island.

Interstat’s game simulator had projected a final score of Quinnipiac 5, Post 1. The ELO system gave Quinnipiac a 90.7 percent probability to win. The actual result far exceeded that projection, as the Bobcats delivered a decisive home victory and remained unbeaten.
