ST. CHARLES, Mo. (Interstat) — The Merrimack Warriors scored three first-period goals to defeat the Lindenwood Lions 3-1 in a women’s NCAA Division I hockey game Saturday at Centene Community Ice Center.

Stina Sandberg, Alexandra Cservjacsenko and Emma Pfeffer all scored for Merrimack (2-3-1) in the opening frame. Avery Anderson assisted on two of the goals. Lindenwood’s Hannah Dods scored in the second period, but the Lions (1-6-1) could not complete the comeback. Merrimack goaltender Adreanna Doucette made 43 saves in the victory. The win avenged a 6-3 loss to Lindenwood from the previous afternoon. Attendance was 227.
